English singer and songwriter James Arthur, who rose to fame after winning the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012, has reconciled with his on/off girlfriend Jessica Grist.
The couple went their separate ways in July 2021, coinciding with the release of a record by the singer containing positive lyrics about their relationship.
Recently shared online photos show James and Jessica together at a specialist garage that customizes smart motors with personalized colors and logos. They were both seen in extremely bold, patterned designer outfits.

“They’ve had six months apart but have always stayed in touch and got on very well. People close to them are pleased they’re back on — there’s a definite chemistry and they’ve been together the best part of a decade. Hopefully this is a fresh start. There was always something really good there.”
The couple started dating in 2012 when Jessica worked as a backup dancer on the series of The X Factor that James won. James and Jessica drifted apart in July, and in an interview shortly after their break-up, the singer said:
“The challenge is, people like storytelling from me, the love stuff — but it’s trying to work out how I can dress it up in a cooler way. I put a lot of myself into the music, a lot of my story, but the hope is it will help other people too.
“I’ve never wanted to involve people in my personal life, even though I know it comes with the territory, but I’m fine about putting myself out there. I’m a big ambassador for mental health.
“Uncomfortable as it makes me feel to talk about my personal struggles, I’ve seen how helpful it can be so I’ll continue to do it — whether through music or interviews.”
